Seeking Improv Actors for Cabaret in Provincetown
PROVINCETOWN, Mass.: Oversoul Theatre Collective and The GroovaLottos are seeking improv actors for "The Soul Session" a cabaret running all summer in Provincetown.
"The SOUL SESSION" is a new musical theatre piece opening and running Provincetown every Saturday night, starting May 25th. Produced by Oversoul Theatre Collective, the show is seeking 5 actors with strong improv skills and comic timing. There is compensation for all roles.
"The SOUL SESSION" is an experiential theater piece, bringing performers and audiences together in the same space. Written and directed by GroovaLottos keyboardist, Mwalim, this play pays homage to the subterranean nightclubs in Greenwich Village and Harlem in the late 1960s and '70's, where soul music was the flavor. "We're going to party like it's 1968!" is the motto of the show.
Oversoul Theatre Collective is a 25 year-old professional arts and education organization with a particular focus on developing and presenting high quality works of theater, film and video, primarily by and about Black and Native American people. The other objective of the company is to provide professional training and experiences in theater and media arts for community people who wish to enter these fields as professions.
