The Sajid-Wajid Equation:

Wajid Ali Khan, son of famed tabla player Ustad Sharafat Ali Khan, made his debut as a music composer in cinema alongside his brother Sajid Ali Khan, with Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya (1998), starring Salman Khan and Kajol. The film proved to be a musical success and led to their collaboration with singer Sonu Nigam on the very popular album Deewana in 1999. Wajid also did playback for Akshay Kumar in “Chinta Ta Chita Chita” from the film Rowdy Rathore, among others.

Wajid along with his brother Sajid served as mentor on singing reality shows “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2012” and “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Superstar”.

The composer duo also scored IPL 4 theme song, “Dhoom Dhoom Dhoom Dhadaka”, which was sung by Wajid.
